Dal Base:
- 1/2 cup toor dal (arhar dal)
- 2 cups water (for pressure cooking)

- 1/2 cup drumstick (cut pieces)
- 1/2 cup pumpkin (cubed)
- 1/2 cup carrots (chopped)
- 1/4 cup brinjal (optional)

Tamarind:
- 1 tbsp tamarind pulp (soaked in 1/4 cup warm water)
Spices:

- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
Tempering (Tadka):
- 1 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 8–10 curry leaves
- 1–2 dried red chillies

👨🍳 Step-by-Step Recipe
1. Cook the Dal
Wash and pressure cook 1/2 cup toor dal with 2 cups water for 3–4 whistles.
Mash well and keep aside.
2. Cook the Vegetables
In a pot, add chopped vegetables + 1.5 cups water.
Cook until vegetables are soft but not mushy.
3. Add Tamarind & Masala
Add tamarind pulp to the vegetables.
Then add:
- 2 tsp Four Farmers Sambar Masala
- Turmeric
- Salt
Cook for 5–7 minutes.
4. Combine Dal & Simmer
Add mashed dal to the vegetable mixture.
Mix well and adjust consistency with water if needed.
Simmer for 8–10 minutes until flavours blend.
5. Prepare Tempering
Heat oil/ghee in a small pan.
Add mustard seeds → let them splutter.
Add curry leaves + dry red chillies.
Pour this tempering over the sambar.
